The Co‑Op student will have a unique opportunity to contribute to Emerging Technologies initiatives in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. They will be involved in the implementation of innovative solutions, including new manufacturing methods in upstream and downstream processing, as well as process analytical technology (PAT) sensors and modeling to support next‑generation manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of lab experiments to support biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including cell culture, downstream processing, and formulation of drug substance.
- Set up and tear down bioreactors, conduct offline testing, and collect PAT data to ensure flawless execution of experiments.
- Collect and curate data from PAT and other process outputs, contributing to the modeling of the data for analysis and optimization.
Education:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in these fields will also be considered.
Required:
- Strong coursework background in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or a related field.
- Experience with programming languages such as R, Matlab, Python, etc., to effectively analyze and interpret data.
- Knowledge or experience in cell culture, chromatography, or other related processing steps in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with spectroscopic techniques or experience with spectroscopic instrumentation.
Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H‑1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long‑term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long‑term status that does not require company sponsorship.
