Temporary Research Technician
Under direction of the project PI, the Field Botanist is responsible for vegetation surveys/assessment, (including field work, taxon identification, data management, and related tasks), and, depending on time constraints, seed imaging and flow cytometry of select accessions. Field work will take place in the southeastern United States, including North Carolina and nearby states. This position is time-limited (estimated two to four months, depending on the number of hours worked per week).
The field work is extensive, frequently under conditions of high humidity, heat, mosquitoes, and common natural hazards.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Demonstrated understanding of the natural hazards of and ability to work safety in the field in the southeastern US Coastal Plain. Demonstrated success working independently. Demonstrated plant identification skills through formal coursework in local flora, dendrology, plant taxonomy, or related, OR work experience significantly requiring plant identification skills. Knowledge of southeastern US Coastal Plain vegetation. Experience in vegetation assessment/survey. Experience in management of vegetation data
