Job Duties
- The person taking this position will support research on developing novel gene drive systems for suppression of the New World screwworm. Their main duties will be rearing fly strains, which will involve cleaning cages, preparing diet, setting cages, collecting eggs and setting larval cultures, autoclaving waste, obtaining supplies, checking fly traps and working on other tasks to support research of the senior staff working on the project.
The person will maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and follow all lab safety requirements and requirements for 20-containment of genetically modified insects.
