Undergraduate Machine Learning Research Assistant - Dept of Engineering Technologies

The research laboratory is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to assist with ongoing research projects in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and related areas. The student will support research activities including implementing and testing algorithms, conducting experiments, reviewing technical literature, analyzing results, and assisting with research publications.

• Present ideas or updates in a clear and organized manner.
• Use appropriate grammar, punctuation, and formatting in written work.
• Analyze problems and propose practical solutions.
• Follow instructions, meet deadlines, and deliver quality work.
• Use campus tools and systems effectively to complete job tasks.

• Assist with designing and conducting research experiments.
• Conduct experiments related to deepfake detection and computer vision.
• Prepare, preprocess, and analyze image and video datasets.
• Train and evaluate deep learning models using performance metrics.
• Conduct literature reviews and summarize relevant research papers.
• Assist with writing and preparing research papers for conferences and journals.
• Participate in research meetings and present progress to the research team.
• Perform other research related tasks as assigned.

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at BGSU.
• Strong interest in AI, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or cybersecurity.
• Basic programming experience, preferably with Python and MATLAB.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
