OverviewJob Title: Part-Time Wholesale Partnerships Intern
Hours: Part-Time (16-24 hours per week)
Duration: 3-5 months with potential to extend
Company Background:
Shibumi is a rapidly growing outdoor lifestyle brand based in Raleigh, NC. Shibumi was founded in 2016 by two brothers and their best friend, who, assigned to the task of beach setup and takedown during their annual family vacations, were fed up with the beach shade offerings on the market and decided to take matters into their own hands.
The company’s iconic first product, the Shibumi Shade, has garnered a cult-like following and can be seen on beaches around the country - from Emerald Isle to Santa Monica and from Cape Cod to Oahu. The Shibumi Shade works with the wind instead of against it, and stands out for being lightweight, easy to set up and take down, and durable.
In 2025, Shibumi launched its Shibumi Beach Chair – and it became an instant best-seller, winning awards from NY Times Wirecutter, Forbes, Dwell, the Daily Mail and others. Shibumi products are sold in both premium local retailers and direct-to-consumer.
Shibumi sells its products both directly to customers and via a growing national network of retail stores. As Shibumi expands and enters new geographies, it is important that we build relationships with best-in-class retailers.
A Wholesale Partnerships Intern serves as a supporting point of contact for retailers that carry Shibumi Shade. This individual will support our retailers to deliver an excellent experience to our mutual customers. Shibumi Shade is known for extraordinary customer service, and this role is critical to maintain that reputation with our retailers and mutual customers.
The primary functions of this role are to identify new prospective retailers, sign up prospective retailers to sell Shibumi products, execute against the needs of our current retailers, help retailers successfully promote Shibumi to their customers, and troubleshoot any questions that arise.
The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, care, and conscientiousness to every interaction to set up Shibumi Shade for success, and shares in Shibumi’s mission to create better relaxing experiences for all. Help us build meaningful, long-lasting relationships that propel Shibumi around the country and the world.
The candidate may also contribute to other special projects and roll-up their sleeves where required across business operations, distribution, marketing, and brand building to meet business needs and achieve team-wide goals.
