Role SummaryBusiness Development Representative (BDR) – responsible for selling POOLCORP’s value proposition to pool builders, service providers, and retailers.
Responsibilities- Develop strategy to increase sales and profits within assigned territory.
- Prospect and generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and online research.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and become a trusted advisor.
- Make daily scheduled sales calls and deliver on‑site presentations and product demonstrations.
- Negotiate terms, close sales, and handle post‑sale support.
- Coordinate sales efforts with corporate marketing initiatives and incentives.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Provide accurate quotes and product data.
- Maintain customer records in the CRM system and complete reports promptly.
- Stay updated on competitor activity, market conditions, and industry trends.
- Perform additional job‑related duties as assigned.
- At least 2 years of B2B wholesale distribution sales experience.
- Proven track record of successful sales and ability to cold‑call prospects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust.
- Knowledge of industry products and distribution processes.
- Self‑motivation and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of pool equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, chemicals, landscaping/irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar goods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Familiarity with inventory management software preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record; willing to travel within designated area.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
