The Role

We are hiring experienced SLED Account Managers to join our sales team in Raleigh. Account Managers earn a competitive base salary, exceptional commissions, benefits, top training and support, and recognition for high performers.

Account Managers are responsible for business development, new account acquisition, achieving sales targets, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction within an assigned territory.

Responsibilities
  • Execute sales strategy by identifying customer needs and selling appropriate hardware and company services.
  • Develop business through marketing and sales techniques including cold calling, in‑person meetings, and partnering with vendors or manufacturers.
  • Maintain a targeted understanding of customers’ business, establish buying cycles, and build strong relationships to drive sales and repeat business.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales top‑line revenue and margin goals as defined by management.
  • Drive profitably and grow revenue for target accounts in partnership with inside sales team.
  • Adhere to sales process, including pipeline development and accurate forecasting.
  • Perform extensive proposal writing and prepare sales information for customers.
  • Manage sales objectives, including sales orders and billing activities, to support quarterly goals.
  • Manage ongoing customer account relationships, update account information in company systems, and resolve satisfaction issues.
  • Work with inside sales to ensure quotes and order requests are processed accurately and scope projects with engineering.
  • Manage past‑due invoice resolution with accounting for proper collections.
  • Develop and maintain solid business relationships with decision‑makers at target accounts.
  • Understand each target customer’s business model, map their organization, and identify technology needs.
  • Perform deep analysis of account base to determine key opportunities.
  • Develop and execute marketing and business plans to drive revenue and profits.
  • Work with sales leadership and team to provide feedback, develop vendor relationships, advance company initiatives, and mentor new employees.
  • Attend account planning sessions with manufacturing partners’ AMs.
  • Present Quarterly Business Outlook reports to Sales/Ops Manager each quarter.
  • Provide in‑depth technology roadmap and work with the inside account manager to uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Develop partnerships with vendor field sales representatives to optimize joint selling opportunities.
  • Use monthly forecasting and pipeline management to manage sales growth.
  • Demonstrate ability to overcome obstacles, achieve sales goals, and articulate ideas clearly.
  • Show proven track record in developing relationships with customers and vendors, and translating client business needs into solutions.
  • Preferred: prior experience selling advanced technology solutions from Cisco, EMC, Nimble, Aruba, Palo Alto, IBM, HP, Citrix, Microsoft, etc.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of outside IT SLED sales experience, customer‑facing, with state and local government and higher education.
  • Experience with infrastructure, storage, network security, professional services, or managed services preferred; cloud experience strongly preferred.
