Director, MSL Lead, Oncology West

Key Responsibilities- Accountable for the field‑based medical strategy and responsible for the training, deployment, direction, and execution of the Field MSL organization's goals and objectives in prostate cancer and AML.
- Lead, manage and mentor the Field MSLs to ensure team effectiveness while fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, innovation, and results.
- Monitor timely and customer‑focused dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding the Company’s pipeline and marketed products.
- Oversee engagement opportunities with key opinion leaders in the therapeutic areas of interest and cultivate scientific relationships.
- Lead the development of a customer‑centric strategic regional engagement plan and execute tactical activities to support Medical Affairs’ goals.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of HCP interactions in the CRM and respond to unsolicited requests.
- Collect, summarize, and disseminate key insights to Medical Affairs and other internal stakeholders promptly.
- Participate in identifying and implementing systems supporting departmental needs and initiatives.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate MSL performance to maximize engagement and value of the field‑based team.
- Supervise territory plans and key account plans regionally and manage the clinical positioning of a designated product line.
- Provide clinical resources for commercial training, marketing efforts and professional services.
- Maintain business and clinical knowledge in prostate cancer and hematology including current treatment strategies, competitors, and therapeutic developments.
- Ensure team communication and interaction across cross‑functional counterparts while adhering to compliance and regulation guidelines.
- Manage adherence to regulatory and compliance guidelines for all scientific dissemination activities under the SMP Oncology Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to bring the medical perspective to commercial strategies and tactics, aligning for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
- Provide timely and accurate performance feedback based on customer interactions and metrics as part of a performance management system.
- Support regional field teams as advocate and spokesperson, promoting collaboration across Medical Affairs, cross‑functional, and stakeholder groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Connected to external experts in hematology and prostate cancer with understanding of market landscape.
- Advanced degree in medical science (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, including pharmaceutical field‑based experience (MSL) and/or related roles; prior MSL management preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of people‑leadership experience.
- In‑depth knowledge of oncology clinical and therapeutic issues in prostate cancer and hematology, especially AML.
- Patient‑care clinical experience in oncology and/or hematology (sub‑specialty preferred).
- Solid understanding of drug and life‑cycle development of a product.
- Strong communicator with diplomacy and ability to combine science and relationship building.
- Leadership skills to manage a large group and disseminate information regionally in a cohesive manner.
- Decision‑making ability under incomplete information and tight timelines.
