Construction Security and Reporting Technician

Columbus, United States | Posted on 08/14/2026

ATLAS is recruiting cleared security professionals to support the construction and renovation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs). The Construction Surveillance Technician protects classified facilities throughout construction by monitoring workers, inspecting materials and equipment, identifying security anomalies, and maintaining precise construction-security documentation.

This is not a conventional fixed-site guard position. It requires physical-security experience, familiarity with ICD 705 requirements, construction awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to recognize conditions that could compromise a secure facility.

What You Will Be Doing

Continuously monitor construction workers, including foreign-national personnel, on secure construction sites.

Prevent the introduction of clandestine electronic, electrical, mechanical, or other surveillance devices into classified facilities.

Inspect construction materials, tools, equipment, furnishings, and work areas for tampering, unauthorized modifications, or anomalies.

Use or support the use of specialized inspection equipment such as portable X-ray systems, spectrum analyzers, and Non-Linear Junction Detectors.

Review blueprints and construction details and identify deviations, unexplained penetrations, concealed spaces, or other security concerns.

Maintain detailed daily security logs, construction-surveillance reports, incident records, and required chain-of-custody documentation.

Perform site access control and personnel, bag, tool, vehicle, or material searches as required by the approved security plan.

Report suspected security violations immediately and coordinate corrective action with designated security and construction-management personnel.

Required Qualifications

Active and maintained U.S. Top Secret security clearance. ATLAS is not sponsoring clearance upgrades at this time.

Physical-security experience relevant to controlled or classified facilities.

ICD 705 training or demonstrated experience applying ICD 705 requirements to SCIF construction, renovation, inspection, or accreditation support.

Knowledge of construction-surveillance practices and the security risks associated with secure-facility construction.

Ability to understand construction methods and read blueprints, plans, or technical drawings sufficiently to identify anomalies.

Ability to maintain precise logs and reports and communicate security concerns clearly and promptly.

Dependability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to remain composed in high-stakes environments.

Ability to work at an active construction site, stand or walk for extended periods, and work the schedule required by construction operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Formal ICD 705, SCIF construction, or Construction Surveillance Technician training.

Background in a construction trade, engineering, facilities maintenance, or construction inspection.

Experience monitoring foreign-national workers on secure construction projects.

Experience with portable X-ray equipment, spectrum analyzers, Non-Linear Junction Detectors, or comparable technical inspection tools.

Knowledge of technical surveillance countermeasures and devices used to compromise classified facilities.

Military or DoD experience in physical security, construction security, force protection, engineering, or facilities operations.

Employment Conditions

Work schedules are driven by construction operations and may include extended or irregular hours, overtime, weekends, or holidays.

Employment is contingent upon contract requirements, security verification, SOFA approval, and/or appropriate work authorization.

This is a pipeline position; qualified applicants may also be considered for similar ATLAS roles.

This position may be eligible for overseas logistical support and allowances, including:
