The Foreman is a working foreman position with superior experience and proven success in the leadership position. Essential functions include enforcing safe working practices following company policies and procedures, working safely while performing tasks, efficiently scheduling crews and assigning their work, maintaining necessary records, assisting fellow workers in meeting project objectives, maintaining good customer and public relations, communicating with customers to convey project-related issues, leading, training, and coaching team members on proper pruning techniques, operating vehicles and equipment in a professional and safe manner, assisting in visual observation and safety checks in the process of vegetation management and cleaning, readily joining storm restoration efforts in times of need, ensuring crew members carry out work as planned, adapting quickly to abrupt changes in plans and schedules, understanding the Line Clearance Contract with the Owner and adhering to it, effectively communicating with crew members, being safety conscious by securing the safety of yourself and others utilizing proper tools, safety equipment, and PPE, participating in ongoing training to improve technical and leadership skills, coordinating and inspecting the work of crew members, safely performing necessary tasks to complete the job, complying with company reporting procedures and completing company paperwork, assisting in on-the-job training for less experienced climbers and bucket operators, readily accepting accountability for crew availability, properly inspecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order, effectively communicating with crew members to ensure they have proper understanding of work directives and the ability to efficiently communicate with customers/property owners about work practices to obtain their concurrence with the necessary work, demonstrating possession of the knowledge and experience required in subordinate positions, and following Company Safety Rules and Company Policies and Procedures.

Minimum requirements include 1-2 years of recent experience, the ability to read and communicate effectively in English, bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, a valid driver's license, a commercial driver's license strongly preferred, the ability to travel long distances on short notice, the ability to work for extended periods in various locations, the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs, willingness to work overtime when requested, a high school diploma or equivalent, safety consciousness, trustworthiness and responsibility, excellent communication and people skills, broad knowledge of all climbing skills and all other technical aspects (mechanical and manual) of electrical line clearance operations, thorough knowledge of proper pruning techniques (natural and directional pruning), proven skills through job performance as a top climber (CA), working knowledge of all the equipment and tools used on crews and know how to operate the equipment in the most efficient manner, and excellent leadership skills.

Other requirements include understanding when to wear personal protective equipment, the ability to perform rigorous physical labor, understanding the proper use of company radio, understanding the proper use and maintenance of hand tools, capable of receiving and following directions, capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces, ability to work outside frequently in inclement weather, ability to read/write and communicate effectively, and following Company Safety Rules and Company Policies and Procedures.

Physical demands include talking or hearing, standing, walking, using hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, and being frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, extreme conditions at construction job sites, and loud noise levels. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
