Key Responsibilities and Duties Include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems
, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair steam/hot water boilers and auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, pressure‑reducing stations, air compressors, and water softeners
- Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment
- Conduct electrical work up to 600 VAC, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical panels, breakers, switch gear, magnetic starters, disconnects, motors, and lighting systems
- Troubleshoot and repair control systems
, including temperature controls, regulators, humidity controllers, sensors, pneumatic control valves, and regulators - Install and maintain plumbing systems
, including cutting, threading, assembling, and installing pipes, valves, and fixtures for gas, water, and sanitation systems - Perform pipe fitting and insulation work related to steam and water distribution systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices while performing all duties
- Participate in the on‑call program
- Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s).
Optional Guidelines:
Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience in the trades areas of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
- Valid driver’s license required
- NC driver’s license within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
