Position Summary
The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, service, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in compliance with the North Carolina State Fire Code
, NFPA standards
, and North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) regulations. This role supports life safety by ensuring fire protection systems remain operational, code-compliant, and properly documented.
- Install, service, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with:
NFPA 13 – Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems
NFPA 25 – Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
North Carolina State Fire Code
North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) requirements
Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and system modifications on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
Assist with inspections, testing, and impairments under licensed inspection or contracting authority
Replace sprinkler heads, valves, piping, fittings, gauges, and system components
Perform flow tests, main drain tests, and alarm device testing
Identify deficiencies and notify supervisors or facility leadership of required corrective actions
Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and compliance documentation
Coordinate work with facility staff, inspectors, contractors, and local fire officials (AHJ)
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe working condition
Participate in on-call or emergency response as required
Travel to multiple facilities throughout North Carolina
