UTS - Temporary Building Maintenance Mechanic at NC State

We are looking for a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day facilities operations on our campus. In this role, the candidate will keep university buildings running safely and efficiently by performing hands‑on maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This is a great opportunity for a dependable technician who takes pride in their craft and wants to contribute to a campus community.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete timely repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders across campus facilities.
  • Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities or maintenance work.
  • Hands‑on technical and mechanical experience in at least one of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Reliable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently.
  • Experience in a university, institutional, or large facilities environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing license are a plus.
  • Valid NC Driver’s License and required license or certification for technical and mechanical work.
