Position Responsibilities- Install, modify, and repair underground and above ground CPVC, C‑900 and Ductile Iron fire sprinkler systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Perform system testing, inspections, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate daily tasks with the foreman and assist with crew leadership as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient job site.
- Communicate professionally with customers, inspectors, and team members.
- Perform other duties assigned by the underground foreman or superintendent.
- Attend monthly safety meetings at the local branch.
- Work outdoors for long hours in all seasons, including summer months.
- Meet physical requirements including standing, sitting, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and climbing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a utility/underground fitter or in a related role.
- Extensive hands‑on experience with fire sprinkler system installation.
- Strong understanding of underground piping and above ground systems.
- Ability to work and lead effectively in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Backflow Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Equipment operator experience preferred.
- Experience working directly with a foreman or leading small crews.
- Positive attitude with clear leadership and communication.
- Travel within the local community is required.
- Must be able to wear proper protective equipment on all job sites.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and background check (including 10 years of employment verification).
