The LTS-CI Electrical Specialist supports Production and Warehouse operations through electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation support, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical training. This role works independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and optimization of automated production and warehousing systems.
Reporting Relationships- Reports to the Electrical Maintenance Manager
- Works with Tooling, Mechanical, Electrical, Machining, Injection Molding, Quality and Engineering Specialists, Warehouse and Logistics as needed
- Supports Production Managers, Production Team Leads, and Project Teams
- Support all Production and Warehouse operations
- Participate in Production and Facility-based projects
- Operate independently and collaboratively within continuous improvement and problem resolution teams
- Provide technical support and training for Production and Warehouse personnel
- Develop and analyze quality and production reports
- Work with production and maintenance teams to establish work assignments and priorities
- Perform maintenance, repair, programming, setup, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems associated with automated production and warehousing equipment
- Complete LTS-CI control system training on function and theory of operation, including operating controls
- Participate in rotational on-call support for weekend production needs
- Complete approximately 2–4 weeks of machine introduction through an OJT training program
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in an electrical-related field or completion of a DOL-approved apprenticeship program emphasizing Electronics Technology preferred
- Equivalent military training or experience will be considered
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment with a focus on PC and PLC-based automation controls, installation, programming, design, and troubleshooting required
- Experience with European power and control systems preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and CMMS systems
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Experience with circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, sensor technology, vision systems, and computer hardware/software, including programming applications
- Knowledge of AC power distribution systems, transformers, UPS equipment, electrical schematics, motors, servo drive systems, and control circuits
- Understanding of electrical maintenance, theory, safety, and NEC compliance
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement techniques
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network-related issues
- Basic knowledge of electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening, reading comprehension, and questioning skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Data analysis and root cause identification skills, including CMMS historical data review
- Ability to program, configure, and use computer systems and software applications
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment, hand tools, and shop tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities
- Coordinate and perform predictive and preventive electrical maintenance activities
- Evaluate system performance and diagnostic data to ensure compliance with production, quality, and customer requirements
- Troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuits and production equipment control systems
- Troubleshoot LAN and database issues within PC-based production control systems and coordinate repairs with I.S. specialists
- Modify and debug automation programs to correct errors, improve performance, and eliminate quality defects
- Plan and conduct simulated and operational testing of systems and equipment
- Collect and analyze data to perform root cause analysis and resolve issues
- Maintain machine documentation, troubleshooting guides, and job aids
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and recommend solutions
- Coordinate electrical component and software installations and upgrades
- Prepare, schedule, and conduct training on new or modified systems
- Support inventory planning and procurement of electrical spare parts
- Maintain and optimize machine cycle times
