Field Technician

Geo Sonics, Inc., an industry leading construction consulting company specializing in pre-construction home inspections, seismic monitoring and community outreach, is seeking a full-time, entry level Field Technician to join our team at the Raleigh, North Carolina location.

As a Field Technician with Geo Sonics, you will travel to various worksites - homes, commercial buildings and other structures - to conduct pre or post-blast inspections, perform on-site vibration monitoring, and manage installation, testing, repair and maintenance of service equipment.

Our ideal candidate has experience using video and digital cameras, is proficient in computer and technical skills, and has legible handwriting. Possesses strong communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and work independently. Experience or degree in Construction, Geology, Earth Science or a related field is preferred but not required.

• Conduct detailed pre and post-blast inspections of homes, commercial buildings and other structures
• Perform on-site and remote seismograph vibration monitoring at mining, quarry and construction operations
• Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance and testing
• Prepare reports
• Perform general office duties, including technical report writing and proofreading, use of office machines, and computer software including MS Office
• Provide service and customer support during field visits
• Follow company procedures and protocol
• Build positive relationships with current and potential customers
• Anticipate and act to maintain a safe environment, integrating safety/risk management standards into daily work practices
