Plumber II (S)
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor at a multi-custody male correctional facility, this position provides facility maintenance support predominantly in the trade area of plumbing. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: performing journey level duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems; performing routine work assignments based on the nature of the location of the needed repair with assignments involving work of special or unusual nature are accompanied by specific instructions;
exercising considerable independence in performance of routine work while unprecedented assignments are usually discussed with or supervised by foreman; reviewing work through inspection of work in progress and on the basis of satisfactory operation of equipment repaired or installed.
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the Minimum Education and Experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required but applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: documented knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of plumbing systems.
