The Lead or Master Plumber performs advanced (senior-level) installation, maintenance, and repair work of plumbing systems and components. He or She supervises, leads and coordinates and participates in the maintenance and repair of other maintenance, operation and repair of other FOM systems and fixtures. Primarily, hands on work involves assembling, installing, or repairing pipes, backflow inspections (both domestic and fire/life safety), fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, surge arresters, installing expansion tanks and/or draining systems.

Works under no supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Can trouble shoot and determine path forward on repairs. Also experience working in a commercial plumbing environment is a must.

General Qualifications and Requirements:

* Education - High School Diploma/equivalent.

* Formal Trades Technical College (4 years) and Formal Apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and (12,000 hours) experience.

* Experience - Minimum of six (6) year experience (12,000 hrs) repairing and maintaining plumbing systems.

Licensure and/or Certification - Current Master Plumbing License issued by Authority Having Jurisdiction or Governing Agency. If driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.

Other Qualifications

* Credentials related to fire sprinklers and other fire suppression systems preferred

Regulatory Knowledge

* Working knowledge of plumbing systems. Master level understanding of plumbing codes, working knowledge of building codes such as Fire Codes, American with Disabilities Act, etc. or ability to learn how they apply to facilities. The ability to rapidly assimilate information related to all local, state and federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.

Maintenance Knowledge

Skill in the use of hand and power tools and equipment to accomplish plumbing tasks involved in maintenance, repair, dismantling, construction, refresh, and remodeling of the building structures. Ability to learn a variety of processes, procedures, methods, various standard materials, and supplies applicable to constructing, remodeling, maintaining, and repairing office buildings and other structures. Ability to learn procedures for and to operate equipment (jack hammers, etc.)
