Are you an experienced electrician who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and making a meaningful impact on campus operations? Join our Building Maintenance and Operations team as an Electrician II
, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our campus electrical and mechanical systems.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of secondary electrical systems, steam/ HVAC equipment, and mechanical components while contributing to a collaborative environment that supports learning, innovation, and campus excellence. Key Responsibilities and duties
  • Install, maintain, and repair secondary electrical systems (550V and below) and related equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical components such as conduit, wiring, electrical panels, breakers, switch gear, magnetic starters, disconnects, and motors.
  • Repair and maintain lighting systems, including fixtures, ballasts, switches, and receptacles.
  • Diagnose, service, and repair equipment used in steam generation and distribution, requiring strong mechanical and pipe fitting skills.
  • Maintain critical systems such as boilers, turbines, pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, expansion joints, strainers, pressure-reducing stations, piping, insulation, air compressors, and water softeners.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Identify and correct faults in control systems and perform necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Repair, adjust, or replace temperature controls, humidity controllers, sensors, pneumatic control valves, and regulators.
  • Lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing 60-90 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Perform tasks requiring standing for extended periods
    , working in confined spaces, and utilizing various tools.
    Safely climb and work from different types of ladders to access elevated or below-grade areas (such as roofs, above-ceiling spaces, and utility pits).
    Be exposed to and work in areas where insects or small animals are occasionally present. All essential tasks must be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
