Infinity Technical Services Division, Inc., a NETA Accredited Company, is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Testing Technician to support our growing Raleigh-area operation.
Position SummaryThis position is a hands-on field leadership position focused on NETA acceptance testing, maintenance testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage electrical power-distribution equipment. The successful candidate will have the technical experience to lead complex testing projects today, along with the organization, judgment, and leadership capacity to help develop technicians, strengthen customer relationships, and eventually manage Infinity TSD’s Raleigh operation.
Theposition requires approximately 50% travel, primarily throughout Central and Eastern North Carolina and Virginia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform NETA acceptance-testing and maintenance-testing projects.
- Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage electrical power-distribution equipment.
- Support switch gear, UL 891 switchboards, MCCs, transformers, panel boards, circuit breakers, protective relays, cables, and associated control systems.
- Perform and oversee electrical testing in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer instructions, customer requirements, and applicable NETA standards.
- Review project scope, drawings, specifications, test plans, equipment information, and safety requirements before work begins.
- Organize daily field activities, assign technician responsibilities, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Operate and oversee the use of various electrical testing equipment.
- Evaluate test results, identify abnormal conditions and deficiencies, and communicate findings clearly to customers and project stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, control-power, protective-device, and equipment-operation issues.
- Produce complete, accurate, and professional test documentation and field-service reports.
- Review technician test data and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and technical quality.
- Coordinate field activities with customers, contractors, project managers, engineers, and other technicians.
- Mentor developing technicians and reinforce Infinity TSD’s expectations for safety, technical quality, responsiveness, and customer care.
- Support commissioning and OEM startup activities when required.
- Help establish the processes, customer relationships, and field team needed to support a permanent Raleigh-area operation.
- Minimum of five years of direct, hands-on experience with electrical testing, maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience working with low- and medium-voltage electrical power-distribution systems.
- Strong working knowledge of switch gear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, panel boards, circuit breakers, protective devices, cables, and associated control systems.
- Experience performing or leading electrical acceptance-testing and maintenance-testing projects.
- Ability to safely and correctly operate electrical test equipment and evaluate the resulting data.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, test specifications, and equipment manuals.
