JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems that carry various fluids including water, waste, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings. Systems include piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED and; 1+ years of experience in industrial plumbing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Journeyman Level Tradesmen Certification
Certification in Med-Gas
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
Strong understanding of NC Plumbing Codes and industry standards
Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and material
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems that carry various fluids including water, waste, chemicals, gases in industrial settings. Systems include piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and equipment.
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and industrial standards
Layout, assemble, install, and maintain underground and above-ground pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment
Ability to run and become certified in the operation of heavy machinery including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and excavation equipment
Use various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threading machines, compression tools, press tools, and bending tools to join pipes by means of brazing, soldering, cementing, gluing, compression, press, or threading
Install and connect a range of plumbing fixtures including but not limited to sinks, toilets, and water heaters
Diagnose and repair faults in piping systems, including leaks, blockages, or pressure issues.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards
Test plumbing piping systems for leaks using methods like 10' heat test, hydrostatic testing, or air pressure test
Lead and instruct plumbing helpers, mechanics, and fitters under your supervision
Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely
Other tasks as assigned
