PositionFire Sprinkler Apprentice / Fitter – Raleigh, NC branch. This role assists in the layout, assembly, and installation of pipe systems and related equipment for commercial, multi‑family fire sprinkler systems. The apprentice works under the guidance of a commercial fire sprinkler foreman and is responsible for completing all work in a timely, accurate, and safe manner in compliance with relevant codes and WAFS standards.
Responsibilities- Follow procedures and directions from the fire sprinkler foreman for the installation of fire sprinkler systems to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and to required standards.
- Assist with layout, assembly, and installation of pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, gaining knowledge of system operations and interpreting blueprints and installation instructions.
- Perform maintenance and replacement work on system components such as valves, gauges, flow switches, tamper switches, etc.
- Assist in completing commercial work orders, including fitting overhead pipe, carrying materials, ladders, and other items (up to 50 lbs.) and moving materials up and down stairs.
- Proactively notify the foreman of any issues, concerns, or changes on the job site.
- Comply with all work and safety rules and proper safety protocols on the job site.
- Load trucks with all necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain care, maintenance, and safekeeping of assigned tools and equipment.
- Wear a clean company uniform at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the commercial foreman or superintendent/manager.
- Construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Ability to wear required protective equipment and adhere to safety guidelines on job sites.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test, background check, and 10‑year employment verification is required.
