This is an entry-level facilities support position focused primarily on conference room and meeting space setup (approximately 65% of duties), with additional responsibilities for basic building maintenance tasks. Ideal candidates are motivated individuals eager to learn facilities operations and provide excellent customer service. Prior maintenance experience is helpful but not required. The Facilities Support Technician supports daily operations at assigned facilities, including conference room setups, basic building inspections, and minor repairs.

This role assists with event setup/teardown, arranging tables, chairs, podiums, and equipment, and performs light maintenance tasks such as painting, wall patching, door adjustments, and lighting replacements. The technician also assists with troubleshooting office equipment such as monitors and conference room devices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Room setups in large and small conference and meeting rooms, including table/chair configuration, adjusting wall dividers, and furniture arrangements (primary focus of role).
  • Track inventory and locations for equipment, tables, chairs and other items.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the Client, Events Team, IT, shipping/receiving and engineering staff.
  • Assist with troubleshooting devices including monitors, conference room equipment, and Web Ex boards.
  • Maintain doors, loading docks and lighting and perform bulb and ceiling tile replacements
  • Assist with replacement/damage communication and escorting with vendors.
  • Meet internal and client timelines for work order completion and uptime performance metrics.
  • Utilize the CMMS system to document work performed, including timely completion of preventative maintenance and tenant-requested work orders.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, painting, locksmith work, and general maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Comply with all policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Document work performance and materials procurement as directed.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft., and possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Proficient use of hand tools and equipment including cordless drill, basic hand tools, hand truck, 4-wheel dolly, panel cart, pallet jack.
  • Ability to comply with both JLL and client-directed Policies & Procedures.
  • Must pass background check, drug/alcohol screen, and MVR screening process.
Preferred:
  • 1-2 years of experience in facilities support, event setup, general maintenance, hospitality, customer service or related field.
  • Prior experience with meeting room setup, furniture arrangement, or event support.
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools and minor repairs (painting, lightbulb replacement, etc.).
  • Interest in learning minor plumbing repairs, painting, drywall patching, and general building maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn basic troubleshooting of some office devices and conference room equipment.
  • Intermediate-level use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Physical Demands:
  • Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.
Work Environment:
  • Candidate will be provided with tools and PPE required to perform assigned work scope.
  • Successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently or in a team environment.
