Jones Advisors HR Consulting is actively searching for an Access Control & Security Systems Technician on behalf of our client,S.A.M.S. Inc.. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an experienced
Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) to join our growing team.
This is not an entry-level cable-pulling position.
We’re looking for someone with2+ years of low-voltage experience and hands-on commercial access control/security installation experience who can complete quality work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot problems in the field, and take ownership of the job.

What You'll DoAs an Installer II, you'll independently install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems throughout the Raleigh-Durham area and Southeast.
Your work will include:
- Electronic access control systems
- Card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks and electrified door hardware
- REX devices, door contacts, motion sensors and push buttons
- Control panels and power supplies
- Low-voltage cabling, termination, labeling and testing
- IP surveillance cameras and NVRs
- Intercom and visitor management systems
- Intrusion detection systems
- Structured cabling as needed
- Reading blueprints and installation drawings
- Troubleshooting installation and system issues
- Testing completed installations and correcting punch-list items
- Completing accurate job and closeout documentation
You'll also assist senior technicians and help mentor Installer I team members as your skills and leadership abilities grow.
What You NeedRequired:
- 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience
- Hands-on commercial access control installation experience
- Commercial security system installation experience
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Basic networking knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing
Experience or manufacturer certifications involving
Mercury, HID, ASSA ABLOY, Allegion, Badge Pass, Entrust, Avigilon Alta/Openpath, Genetec, LenelS2, CCURE, Verkada, Axis, Milestone, Hanwha, Cisco or PoE networking is a plus.
Manufacturer certifications are highly valued.
