Concrete Finisher​/Form Carpenter

The Fred Smith Company is currently recruiting for the position of Concrete Finisher/Form Carpenter. Successful applicants will have at least 3 years experience constructing and dismantling concrete forms for bridges, culverts and walls, and finishing concrete surfaces.

Fred Smith Company is hiring an experienced and dependable Concrete Form Carpenter / Finisher. This position involves constructing and installing concrete forms, placing and finishing concrete, and completing projects safely and according to specifications.

• Build, install, align, brace, and remove concrete forms
• Read plans, measurements, grades, and layout markings
• Pour, spread, level, screed, float, edge, and finish concrete
• Create broom, smooth, and other specified finishes
• Install reinforcing steel, wire mesh, and related materials
• Operate hand and power tools safely
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
• Follow company safety procedures and use required protective equipment
• Work effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and crew members

• Previous concrete form carpentry and finishing experience required
• Knowledge of concrete placement, curing, and finishing methods
• Ability to read construction plans and use a tape measure accurately
• Experience using concrete-forming tools and equipment
• Able to perform physically demanding work outdoors
• Able to lift [50–75] pounds and stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift
• Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
• Willingness to work early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekends as needed
• Valid driver’s license preferred
