Maintenance Technician

Come be a part of a family produce business serving North Carolina since 1946! We need the right person to help in our maintenance department here in Raleigh.

The In-House Maintenance Person will assist with the basic maintenance and upkeep of the company's facilities and vehicles. This includes performing preventive maintenance on some equipment and machinery, troubleshooting and repairing minor equipment issues, and making minor repairs to the building. You will be responsible for assisting the outsourcing of all major repairs of company vehicles to local shops. Oversee the maintenance of building systems, such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as basic carpentry and plumbing skills.

Our Maintenance Technician will start at $20 an hour, plus Ford’s Produce will provide all tools required.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 6am – 3 pm.

• Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks. Oversee the outsourcing of all major repairs to local shops.
• Oversee the maintenance of building systems, such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Perform minor repairs to buildings and equipment, such as painting, drywall repair, and plumbing.
• Order and track inventory of maintenance supplies and parts.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance work performed.
• Comply with all applicable safety regulations.
• Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability. Handle road service calls:
• Perform Road rescue/transport equipment if needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
• Light electrical repairs.
• Maintain vehicle appearances by cleaning, washing.
• Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or a GED Required

• A valid Class-C license with a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier. A CDL is not required.
• Must have some background of hands-on mechanic experience or mechanic school

• Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.
• Able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to work under vehicles as needed
• Computer and software experience.
• Must be able to work overtime if needed
