Job Overview

Primoris T&D is seeking an experienced Underground Foreman to support electric distribution work in the Raleigh / Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina area.

This position is responsible for safely leading and directing an underground distribution crew while ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company and customer standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise crews performing underground electric distribution construction.
  • Plan and assign daily work activities based on job requirements and crew capabilities.
  • Oversee installation and maintenance of underground primary and secondary distribution systems.
  • Direct trenching, conduit installation, cable pulling, equipment setting, and related underground construction activities.
  • Read and interpret utility prints, construction drawings, maps, and work orders.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Primoris safety policies, OSHA requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Conduct daily job briefings and communicate hazards, work plans, and safety expectations to crew members.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and jobsite needs to maintain productivity and project schedules.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Maintain accurate daily production, time, material, and job documentation.
  • Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, customers, and other field personnel regarding job progress and field conditions.
  • Train, mentor, and provide direction to apprentices, groundmen, operators, and other crew members.
  • Identify and address jobsite hazards or operational concerns.
  • Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are used and maintained properly.
  • Participate in emergency restoration and storm response as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in underground electric distribution construction required.
  • Previous foreman or crew-lead experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of underground distribution construction practices, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand electric utility construction prints and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
  • Must be available for overtime, weekends, emergency response, and travel as required.
