Assistant Extension Agent, Ag (Assistant, Associate, Full Agent)
Position Type: NC Cooperative Extension, 12‑Month Recurring, Full‑Time – Permanent. Pay:
Minimum Bachelor’s $40,000, Minimum Master’s $45,000, Minimum Doctorate $50,000, commensurate with experience.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and informational assistance focusing on livestock (swine, cattle, goats, sheep, forages, pasture management).
- Provide educational programming and informational assistance related to all phases of livestock production and management.
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and market educational programs and activities with measurable impacts in livestock production/management and forage/pasture management.
- Collaborate with the 4‑H Agent to lead, implement, evaluate, and market a youth livestock program.
- Travel frequently within Columbus County and occasionally outside the county.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related agricultural field (cumulative GPA 2.5 overall or 3.0 in agriculture; GPA requirement waived for Program Associates). A Master’s degree in an agricultural field is preferred.
- Experience in livestock production and forage/pasture management; background in youth livestock (4‑H) programming.
- Strong oral and written communication, public relations/marketing, presentation, leadership, time‑management, organization, technology, networking, and resource‑development skills.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
