This position is responsible for licensing and monitoring families that are interested in adopting and/ or fostering. This position will also be responsible for completing home assessments and co-leading TIPS-MAPP trainings. This position is responsible for providing transportation to medical appointments along with transporting and supervising court ordered visitations. This position may be responsible for performing other job duties related to serving children and families.
Occasionally this person will perform Child Welfare intake coverage and serve in a supportive role to other programs. This social worker should possess team player qualities, be comfortable with public speaking, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution
- bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience
- bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years directly related experience
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience
In accordance with State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan, Halifax County Social Services staff are required to staff emergency shelters during times of disaster. Please be advised that every staff person is eligible to be assigned to an emergency shelter, or Emergency Operations Center. Other requirements include possession of a driver’s license valid in the state of N.C.
A criminal background check will be required prior to hiring.
