Position Summary

The person in this role will help with airport pick-up/drop-off as well as scheduled events for NC State international visitors participating in a GTI and other international program. The selected candidate will transport program participants to/from their temporary accommodations, training locations, and other scheduled activities. The selected candidate must have flexibility in availability as evening and weekend hours will be required.

Hours will vary based on program needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide transportation for GTI and other international program participants between the airport, temporary accommodations, training locations, and scheduled activities.
  • Maintain GTI buses as needed.
  • Operate a 15‑passenger van and/or mini‑bus and/or large vehicle as required.
Eligibility and Requirements
  • Satisfactory driving record and obedience toward all traffic laws.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and completion of a background check.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with staff and visitors.
  • Friendly and helpful disposition.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use Google Calendar for scheduling driving times.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of NC State area and/or nearby housing complexes is a plus.
  • Cultural sensitivity toward newly arrived international visitors.
Compensation

Up to 20-30 hours a week as needed. $17–20 per hour.
