Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Novum Infusion Pump team
Baxter is seeking a visionary and highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Novum Infusion Pump team in the Medical Products and Therapies group. You will drive the development of cutting-edge, embedded software solutions that enhance our infusion portfolio and meet client needs.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and Develop Embedded Software Applications
:
Create high-performance and responsive embedded software using the Qt framework with seamless hardware integration.Collaborate Across Functions
:
Work with hardware engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure integration of software and hardware components.Ensure Code Quality
:
Participate in code reviews, adhere to coding standards, and implement testing strategies to validate software functionality and performance.Stay Ahead of the Curve
:
Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in embedded systems development and verification to drive innovation.Document and Share Knowledge
:
Create and maintain documentation for software designs, processes, and testing procedures, and share knowledge with the team.
Required
:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of embedded software development experience.Technical Skills
:
Experience in C++ and a UI, understanding of object-oriented programming principles, and experience with embedded Linux preferred.Soft Skills
:
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience leading technical projects and mentoring team members.
Additional Programming Languages
:
Experience with Python; familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).UI/UX Design Principles
:
Knowledge of UI/UX design as it relates to embedded systems; experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing C/C++ code for embedded systems.Automated Testing
:
Experience with automated testing using Squish for Qt.
Baxter is committed to flexibility in the workplace through a policy that includes a required minimum number of onsite days. This policy supports in-person connection and collaboration and is subject to local laws and business needs. Compensation varies by location and experience; the base salary range for this position is estimated at $96,000 to $132,000 annually, and may be adjusted based on market data and other factors.
Eligible for discretionary bonuses where applicable.
