Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer
Our client, a leading commercial insurance organization
, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. You will be part of the Technology & Engineering organization supporting Agile delivery teams responsible for building and maintaining scalable, high-availability enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset that will align successfully within the organization.
Location: Hybrid – Raleigh, NC or Jersey City, NJ (3 days onsite per week)
Employment: FTE / Direct Hire
Job Duties:
- Design, develop, test, and support moderately complex software applications as part of Agile delivery teams.
- Translate business and stakeholder requirements into technical designs, source code, and testing artifacts.
- Collaborate with Software Architects and senior engineers to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate engineering risks while keeping project stakeholders informed of status and issues.
- Provide production support and assist business users by resolving application issues in accordance with established SLAs.
Ideal Background
- Development experience with Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript / Type Script, and SQL
- Experience with Insurance / Reinsurance Systems and Data.
- Experience in scalable, high-availability back-end technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgre
SQL. - Experience with non-relational database technologies preferred such as Memcached, Mongo
DB, Redis. - Strong JavaScript back-end development experience with common frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, or Next.js etc.
- Front-end development experience including Webpack, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, Accessibility and Responsive Layouts, UI/UX development experience.
- Understanding of continuous delivery tools like Chef, Puppet, Salt.
- Understanding of continuous integration and deployment tools like Octopus deploy, Jenkins.
- Some experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Open Stack
