Mobile QA Engineer
The Mobile QA Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality mobile and web applications through modern testing strategies, automation frameworks, and AI‐assisted tooling. This position requires deep expertise in both traditional QA engineering and mobile‑focused testing, specifically within React Native, Expo, and modern cross‑platform environments.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain automated test suites for mobile applications developed in React Native and Expo.
- Design end‑to‑end mobile test flows for robust, stable mobile UI automation.
- Implement mobile accessibility testing with specialized tools, ensuring thorough validation of mobile‑specific edge cases and platform‑specific behaviours.
- Develop reusable frameworks and test helpers to support rapid iteration on mobile UI and feature testing.
- Collaborate with mobile developers to implement testability patterns and instrumentation.
- Maintain test suites for web applications built in Next.js, implementing data‑driven and behaviour‑driven test strategies.
- Validate feature behaviour across responsive breakpoints and cross‑browser environments.
- Utilise AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate test creation, refactoring, and debugging.
- Identify opportunities for AI automation to reduce test maintenance overhead and expand coverage.
- Conduct deep analysis of existing test coverage across mobile and web products, implementing risk‑based prioritisation.
- Develop dashboards and metrics to measure system health, stability, and test performance.
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile applications using parallelisation and fast feedback strategies.
- Ensure test environments accurately mirror production device configurations and APIs.
- Partner with developers, product managers, and Dev Ops teams to drive quality initiatives.
- Advocate for test‑driven development, component‑level testing, and shift‑left practices.
- 5+ years of QA or Quality Engineering experience, including test automation.
- Hands‑on experience testing mobile applications, including React Native or native iOS with Expo.
- Strong coding skills in JavaScript/Type Script;
Python experience preferred. - Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.
- Understanding of accessibility testing standards and tools.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality initiatives and influence cross‑functional teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with AI‑assisted development/test tools.
- Familiarity with Next.js and modern React frameworks.
- Knowledge of performance testing, load testing, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with API testing, microservices, and distributed system testing.
- Experience implementing test frameworks from scratch for mobile and/or web.
- Experience in security testing fundamentals.
- Must have strong communication skills.

Work EnvironmentThis position requires working onsite five days a week with some flexibility at one of our locations in Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC, Memphis, TN, or Birmingham, AL. The environment encourages collaborative work with a focus on modern technologies and methodologies to ensure high‑quality application delivery.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 – $80.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
