Salary: $75,000 - $80,000
Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Hybrid schedule available at supervisor discretion.

Department: Office of Information Technology-Research Services
Role OverviewDevelop and maintain OIT research and campus web applications and associated database and web infrastructure, including Google Cloud Platform and Service Now.
The role includes web application development, support, documentation, research, outreach, and consulting within the research community.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain web applications and APIs using PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, MVC frameworks, Python, HTML5, CSS, Google Cloud Platform.
- Plan, implement, and support PHP web applications improving services and productivity.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing and new tools.
- Consult with end users to ensure features meet designed needs and transition to updated solutions.
- Document web/mobile applications and internal knowledge base.
- Conduct metrics using Google Analytics and Splunk.
- Provide upper-level OIT support and train researchers on new technologies.
- Research, prototype, and deploy new technologies, including web, mobile, and API development.
- Strategic planning and outreach for campus programming.
- Support integration of SSO and SCIM, Service Now integrations, campus configuration management, reporting.
- Research and develop new technologies for unit applications.
- Assist with documentation and training on applications.
Minimum:
- Four‑year degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Programming, or related discipline.
Required Skills:
- Object‑oriented PHP programming with design patterns, frameworks such as Laravel.
- JavaScript, MVC pattern, Python, HTML5, CSS, Google Cloud Platform APIs, MySQL querying, Apache htaccess configuration.
Preferred:
- Experience with PHP web frameworks, JavaScript, XML, Go.
- Knowledge of Service Now development, Service Now REST API, integration of mobile apps and web REST APIs, UFS file system.
- Experience in research computing environments.
License / Certification: Valid NC Driver's License required.
