Job Description
Data Staff, Inc is seeking an AWS/Java Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC.
This position is hybrid. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.
Our client is seeking an AWS/Java developer with 8-10 years of software development experience. This role involves close collaboration with the data modernization teams at ITD and DPH to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that align with their technical requirements and business objectives.
Responsibilities- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies
- Design, develop and test Java-based, cloud-native applications and backend systems
- Utilize AWS services within application architecture
- Develop, test, debug and deliver within the timeline using best tools and best practices available
- Participate in code reviews, ensure security best practices, and maintain clean, efficient code
- Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges
- Ensure adherence to standards and best practices
- Work with product manager, business stakeholders, and other team members to refine requirements and deliver solutions
- Experience in modernizing legacy applications, including refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment
- Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise-level Data Lakes
- Experience working with any transactional or RDMS databases
- Knowledge/experience using any ETL tools; experience with data analytics using Power
BI or AWS Quick Sight is a plus - Must have experience/familiarity with Agile/Scrum Framework environments
- 5 Years - Proficient in using various AWS services (e.g., VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena) to build and manage cloud
- 7 Years - Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java - strong Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework & Hibernate technology
- 5 Years - Experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development
- 5 Years - Knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems
- 5 Years - Experience with Dev Ops practices and automation tools
- 7 Years - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders
- 3 Years - Experience working with creating AWS ETL jobs, data pipelines with high volumes of data
- 2 Years - Experience with data analytics, business intelligence solutions (like Power BI or AWS Quick Sight)
- AWS Certification
