Google Cloud's software engineers develop the next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. In this role, you will be a core member of the Google Cloud Interconnect (GCI) capacity planning and network optimization team, working closely with team leads and cross‑functional partners.

You will play a pivotal role in scaling GCI capacity to unblock the unprecedented growth of Google Cloud’s top enterprise customers. Your work will involve designing and implementing data pipelines that forecast customer demand, match supply with demand, track network usage, and optimize global resource utilization.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• 5 years of experience with network architectures, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, etc.), and technologies, as well as concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency.
• 5 years of experience working in C++, Python, Go, or a similar language.
• 5 years of experience in data analysis, working with databases, and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, Map Reduce).

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross‑functional or cross‑business projects.
• Experience in developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
• Experience with Java or Go.
• Ability to resolve customer‑related issues with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Design, develop, and improve systems that connect customer networks to Google Cloud.
• Work with different teams across Google to create and launch new products and features.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest networking technologies and trends.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $174,000–$252,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only.
