Software Development Engineer, Developer

Overview

We are looking for senior Software Development Engineers to help us build developer tools that empower AWS builders. The role focuses on designing high‑reliability, fault‑tolerant distributed services while delivering a world‑class developer experience.

• Shape the definition, vision, design, and roadmap of customer‑facing services.
• Own the full software lifecycle—from requirement gathering and technical design to deployment and operation.
• Build highly available, fault‑tolerant distributed systems in AWS global infrastructure.
• Mentor other engineers, provide training, and lead technical discussions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including hardware, operations, security, and supply‑chain specialists.
• Champion engineering best practices to simplify processes and reduce friction.

You will be a hands‑on technical lead, working directly with developers to gather requirements, design solutions, and guide the software lifecycle. You will mentor peers, support training, and interact with senior leadership.

• Tools built in Rust, Go, Python, and React.
• Support key services such as product visibility, CI/CD, testing frameworks, and datacenter lab tooling.
• Operate across embedded systems, kernel, gRPC/REST APIs, and front‑end stacks.

Base salary range: $ – $ USD annually (USA, NC, Raleigh). Your package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience in new or existing systems.
• Programming experience in at least one language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
• College degree in computer science or equivalent.
