Lead Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer in Raleigh, NC to join us in fulfilling our mission, while utilizing our values of excellence, improvement, and connection. In this role, you will be responsible for all technical aspects of external integrations with customers, vendors and other partners.

Enact Headquarters, Raleigh, NC – Hybrid Schedule

• Work on medium, large, and portfolio projects related to external customer and vendor integrations and internal utility applications.
• Design Integrations based services in both cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Work with internal & external customers in understanding Integrations/Interface needs.
• Work with outside vendors on projects, establishing technical requirements and standards for outside product development.
• Collaborate with business product owner (POD owner) to define scope, objectives and deliverables.
• Work with various internal IT and Business functional areas as part of project/task collaboration.
• Maintain an effective approach on problem solving, multi‑tasking, coordinating and scheduling in accordance with the Project Plan to ensure visibility and predictability.
• Provide support and maintenance for existing systems in Customer Solutions Integrations area.
• Ability to utilize AI tools when/where appropriate, to improve speed and efficiency of tasks.
• Provide guidance/leadership to other developers including ‘Managed‑Service’ team that is comprised of some offshore developers.
• Perform code reviews and collaborate with peer designers / developers on project work.
• Utilize code management, defect management, and ticketing tools (e.g. JIRA, Service Now).

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree.
• 7+ years of hands‑on experience with Java and enterprise‑grade application development.
• 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions on AWS, including Lambda, Step Functions, and Spring Boot‑based microservices.
• 5+ years of experience with Application performance monitoring and observability platforms for application monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience developing and supporting external APIs and other methods of integration (SFTP etc.) using AWS native services and technologies.
• Demonstrated use of AI‑assisted tools to accelerate technical research, troubleshooting, and solution design.

• Experience in the financial or insurance sector preferred.
• Working knowledge of MISMO standards and schemas, including XML and JSON message formats.
• Experience with Python for scripting, data processing, automation, or building microservices and serverless functions a plus.
