Position Information
This position, up to 29 hours per week, will support research activities within the Research Group at ITRE primarily in the areas of roadway monitoring and roadway modeling, among others. The role includes assisting with research tasks related to web-mapping applications, updating Python scripts, and additional tasks based on the candidate’s background and expertise. The candidate should be proficient in reporting writing, analysis, and communication with the research team and project sponsor.
Responsibilities- Assist with research tasks related to web‑mapping applications and updating Python scripts.
- Provide technical support for a mobile application to support transit scheduling and billing software.
- Degree with a strong GIS emphasis or Computer Science, with coursework or experience in Arc Enterprise, Arc Server, and Python.
- Familiarity with GIS ESRI software products including Arc Pro, Arc Enterprise (ArcGIS Server and Data Store), PostgreSQL PostGIS.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS version upgrades.
- Experience publishing geoprocessing services from Python script tools.
- Strong reporting, analysis, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of AWS EC2 and RDS infrastructure.
- Strong Access and MySQL database management knowledge.
