Senior Machine Learning Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly innovative technology organisation that is continuing to invest heavily in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This is a senior technical leadership position where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of enterprise-scale machine learning, influencing technical strategy and delivering AI solutions that directly impact millions of users.

Working closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science and Platform teams, you'll define long-term machine learning strategy, design scalable ML architectures and mentor senior engineers whilst remaining hands-on with complex technical challenges.

• Define and execute long-term Machine Learning strategy across multiple engineering teams.
• Design and build large-scale production Machine Learning systems supporting real-time decision making.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Platform teams to identify opportunities where AI can deliver measurable business value.
• Lead the architecture of scalable ML infrastructure, feature pipelines and model deployment frameworks.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering excellence across the organisation.
• Drive technical direction for complex AI initiatives whilst balancing scalability, reliability and performance.
• Champion operational excellence through monitoring, testing and continuous model improvement.

• 10+ years' experience designing and deploying enterprise Machine Learning solutions.
• Strong experience building production AI and Machine Learning systems at scale.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, XGBoost or similar Machine Learning frameworks.
• Experience building distributed data processing pipelines using Spark, Ray or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of feature engineering, model training, deployment and monitoring.
• Experience working with modern MLOps tooling such as Kubeflow, MLflow or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of Transformer architectures, sequence modelling, embeddings and representation learning.
• Experience designing scalable inference and model serving infrastructure.
• Proven ability to influence technical strategy across multiple engineering teams.
• Real-time Machine Learning applications.
• Recommendation systems.
• MLOps.
• Technical leadership across cross-functional engineering organisations.
