Software Engineer, Infrastructure Automation

• Develop software consistent with Cisco ‘Design Thinking Principles’
• Create technical design documentation and user documentation
• Debug and address software issues during development and in production systems
• Write functional, clean code and unit tests for scalable control planes
• Lead small-to-medium features from design to completion
• Perform coding, debugging, and troubleshooting in production environments
• Work independently to execute the defined software engineering roadmap
• Provide technical support and guidance for enterprise automation tools

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in software engineering
• Proficiency in Python for developing backend services, APIs and automation frameworks
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Argo Workflows/CD
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and virtualization platforms, such as Open Stack, VMware, or Kubernetes
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, and modern software development practices

Proficient in Python for backend development, with expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible. Demonstrates strong capabilities in debugging, technical documentation, and leading software features from design to completion.
