Jr. Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a growing technology organization in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. The Junior Software Engineer role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build and deploy cloud-native applications while gaining hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code technologies in a collaborative hybrid work environment.

• Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications using Python.
• Support cloud-based solutions and services within AWS environments.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code initiatives utilizing Terraform.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, Dev Ops teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot application issues and participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and code quality.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.

• Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience or relevant internship/co-op experience.
• Experience programming with Python.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization concepts.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform.
• Understanding of software development best practices, version control, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

• Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
