AWS​/Java​/ETL Developer

Job Overview:
Pay Range: $50.00hr - $55.00hr Requirement/Must Have: 8-10 years of software development experience. 5+ years of experience using various AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, and Athena. 7+ years of experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework, and hibernate technology. 5+ years of experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.

5+ years of knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems. 5+ years of experience with Dev Ops practices and automation tools. 3+ years of experience working with creating AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines with high volumes of data. Experience in modernizing legacy applications, including refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment. Proficiency in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.

Experience working with transactional or RDMS databases. Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, understanding database relationships, debugging, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with cloud-based ETL tools. Understanding of data modeling. Experience or familiarity with Agile/Scrum Framework environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies. Design, develop, and test Java-based, cloud-native applications and backend systems. Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines. Analyze data models and business requirements. Perform data validation by querying the database to verify data accuracy and integrity. Design, create, and execute test cases. Conduct back-end testing to validate logic and data processing.

Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand data requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Utilize AWS services within application architecture. Develop, test, debug, and deliver solutions within timelines using best practices. Participate in code reviews and ensure security best practices. Maintain clean, efficient code. Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability. Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.

Ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Work with product managers and business stakeholders to refine requirements. Nice to Have: 2+ years of experience with data analytics and business intelligence solutions like Power BI or AWS Quick Sight. AWS Certification. Prior experience in a State Government environment.
