Java AWS Architect
Location – Raleigh, NC Duration – Fulltime Role Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
We are seeking an experienced Java AWS Architect to design, develop, and lead the implementation of cloud-native, scalable, secure, and high-performance applications on AWS. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, AWS cloud services, Dev Ops practices and enterprise integration patterns.
- 15+ years of IT experience with strong expertise in Java/J2EE.
- 5+ years of AWS solution architecture experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Java 8/11/17
- Spring Boot
- Spring Cloud
- REST APIs
- Microservices
- Hibernate/JPA
- Messaging platforms (Kafka, SNS, SQS)
- Docker
- Kubernetes/EKS
- Terraform or Cloud Formation
- Jenkins
- Git
- Maven/Gradle
- SQL and No
SQL databases. - Experience with monitoring tools such as Cloud Watch, Splunk, New Relic, or Grafana
- Strong proficiency in React, Angular or Vue JS, along with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/Typescript
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Hands on Java/AWS – Develop code and also support when situation arises
- Define end-to-end application architecture using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS and SNS
- Lead API architecture, integration patterns and microservice design for internal and external customers
- Drive cloud-native design decisions, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, Terraform, Git Lab pipelines and Dev Sec Ops practices
- Ensure application security, authentication, authorization, encryption and compliance requirements are implemented
- Review performance, reliability, observability, monitoring, logging and cost optimization strategies on AWS
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical governance and design approvals with AWS and business stakeholders
- Design scalable, highly available and resilient solutions that support customer traffic growth and disaster Recovery requirements
- Own non-functional requirements including scalability, availability, security, maintainability and operational excellence
- Mentor developers and tech leads on architecture standards, coding practices and cloud adoption
- Collaborate with customers, product owners, business teams and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
