AI-Native Software Engineer

Location:

San Jose CA or Raleigh NC (onsite) Duration: 6 months Pay Range: $45 - $50/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)

Responsibilities:

• Proven experience serving as a software engineer for web application projects, hosted On-Prem and Cloud, supporting a large customer base.
• Know when to build and when to reach for a managed AWS service — you can justify that trade-off based on the problem.
• Think in systems and evaluate designs critically — whether reviewing AI-generated code or your own architecture — catching the subtle bug, security gap, or design choice that won't hold up under load or misuse.
• Use spec-driven development with AI as your default way of engineering software.
• Treat performance as a design constraint, not a tuning pass after the fact.
• Pick up new tools and approaches quickly, since the effective way to work with AI changes often, and you'd rather adapt early than fall behind.
• Decisive without being divisive — you can analytically weigh trade-offs, balance competing priorities, and drive decisions that span organizational boundaries.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated fluency in leveraging AI technologies across the entire software development lifecycle, including breaking down user stories into actionable tasks, AI-assisted coding and testing, automated defect resolution, and deployment of fully tested software.
• Deep, hands-on experience building and deploying production systems on AWS (e.g., EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, API Gateway), with a record of real, customer-facing applications running in production.
• Server-side software development experience with Python, Java, NodeJS, and/or other similar technologies; client-side web application development experience using React, Backbone, native JavaScript, and/or other comparable technologies.
• Expertise in building secure, large-scale systems using fault-tolerant technologies (such as Elasticsearch, Cockroach DB, Oracle, MongoDB & Kafka).
• AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer) and/or CISSP/CCSP or similar security certification useful, not required.
