Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Non-CDL Yard Driver in Raleigh, NC offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay:

• $860 or more per week.
• Hourly: $21.50 per hour.
• Hours:
  
  40 + hours per week.
• Paid training.
• Schedule varies. Start time: AM dispatch.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Verifiable driving experience in similar equipment:
  • 9 months in past 3 years, or
  • 2 years within last 5 years, or
  • 5 years within last 10 years.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable.
• Flexibility to operate and self‑driven to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of multi‑tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to:
  • Follow written and/or oral instructions.
  • Read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
  • Work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts.
  • Work using health and safety methods.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated.
  • Meet Ryder's driving qualifications.

• Perform warehouse functions (loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting).
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Accurately pick, pack, audit, tote induction, stage products and load/unload trucks.
• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads.
• Compliance with safety and DOT regulations, continuous training and customer service.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Maintain accurate moves, yard inventory, records and logs.
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Other tasks as assigned.
