We're seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher to play a critical role in coordinating drivers, vehicles, and equipment to ensure efficient, on-time service for our customers. As a Dispatcher, you'll be the central hub between drivers, customers, and operations teams, helping maximize fleet productivity, optimize routes, and support a safe, customer-focused operation.
What You’ll Do- Coordinate daily dispatch operations to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiency
- Assign routes and loads based on driver availability, geographic location, and customer needs
- Monitor route performance and make real-time adjustments to improve service levels
- Prepare, update, distribute, and close daily route schedules
- Track driver locations, route completion status, missed pickups, and additional service requests
- Ensure all routes are completed and accurately documented through the driver check-in process
- Close prior-day routes within the dispatch system while maintaining accurate operational records
- Serve as a key point of contact for drivers and customers, providing professional and timely support
- Escalate driver performance concerns and operational issues to management when appropriate
- Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
- Support additional operational and administrative tasks as needed
- Previous experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or a similar coordination role
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a high-volume environment
- Ability to make sound decisions and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with transportation, waste management, recycling, or fleet-based operations
- Familiarity with dispatching and routing software systems
- Experience working directly with drivers, field personnel, or route-based operations
