The role of Group Lead is responsible for managing daily activities. The Group Lead is responsible for providing the most efficient utilization of warehouse employees, equipment, and resources necessary to achieve the highest potential productivity possible and to provide the highest level of service and quality to our customers. A Group Lead must communicate daily goals through Tier I meetings and drive good safety behaviors by engaging with the overall workforce.
ADay In The Life
- Perform daily observations of Unsafe Acts / Conditions. If problem, identified correct action immediately through retraining and reporting to direct manager, Escalate safety, personnel, policy compliance issues to supervisor in order to address.
- Perform daily inspections on PPE/tools to ensure they are working safely. If damage is found or identified by the operator, replace the tool immediately and perform retraining as necessary.
- Ensure 6S standards are followed by performing daily audits, providing cleaning assignments, and training of department team members.
- Manage tasks within the warehouse management system and direct people to ensure deliveries are received and shipped efficiently and correctly throughout the day.
- Perform daily associate observations on standardized work. If issues are determined, retrain the operator immediately and notify the supervisor of findings.
- Recommend revisions to standard operating procedures and standardized work based on improvements and changes in the business.
- Accurately capture individual performance information and communicate team performance information required in your area in order to measure safety, quality, and productivity targets (Ex. Shift Handoff, etc.)
- Recommend and assist in implementation of revisions to standard operating procedures, standardized work, and visual aids based on strategic plan and changes in the business.
- Perform miscellaneous activities as directed by your manager to efficiently support the warehouse operation.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a high-volume warehouse environment required.
- Three (3) years’ experience in increased responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of SAP.
- Strong data entry and proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to perform work for a maximum of nine hours per day.
