Power Equipment Operator, Grove

Overview

Power Equipment Operator position at Macy's in China Grove, NC. This full-time role involves operating powered equipment to move merchandise safely and efficiently in the furniture, bedding, and fulfillment warehouses. You will operate various powered industrial trucks and equipment to support warehouse operations and fulfill customer needs.

• Operate Equipment Safely: Use industrial trucks, including stock pickers and reach trucks, to move merchandise up to 40 feet high, navigate narrow aisles, and pick, pull, put away, stack, and count merchandise to meet standards.
• Technology: Input data accurately using PCs and handheld devices, and work across warehouse and proprietary systems.
• Safety: Work safely in narrow aisles and at height up to 40 feet with appropriate harnesses; report equipment failures, damage, accidents, and safety concerns promptly.

• A flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work various shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable with heights while operating power equipment up to 40 feet.
• Previous power equipment experience preferred but not required.
• Flexible availability with regular attendance and punctuality.
• Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology.
• Open to cross-training in other facility areas based on business needs.
• Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors; read and understand employment policies and safety rules in English.

• Lifting and moving items weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Prolonged standing/walking (up to 12 hours) with breaks as applicable.
• Requires lifting, repetitive movement, reaching above eye level, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to hear and respond to safety and warning devices on the warehouse floor.
