PositionDesign Professional – Civil, Transportation and Municipal
OverviewThis opening is for a Design Professional – Civil in our Omaha, NE office. You will explore the design of complex public infrastructure, providing hands‑on experience essential for licensure. The role offers a foundation for professional growth and the opportunity to contribute to diverse projects across industrial, healthcare, K‑12, commercial, and government sectors.
Responsibilities- Prepare CAD drawings, reports, construction cost opinions, and technical specifications.
- Design roadway, trail, parking lot, site grading and storm water management projects.
- Design construction phasing, traffic control, and other site design components.
- Assist in on‑site construction administration and observation to ensure contractor compliance and learn construction processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university.
- 0–3 years of experience as a recent graduate, early‑career engineer, or Engineer Intern.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer Intern (EI). Demonstrated drive to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work.
- Valid driver’s license with vehicle access and willingness to work occasional overtime.
- Physical requirements:
climb ladders, work on elevated platforms and open grating, wear required personal safety equipment. - Pass drug and background screenings required for most client sites.
- Hands‑on experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Open Roads Designer.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to client service.
- Prior internships or summer experiences in general civil engineering or construction.
